Safe Dance and Exercise Rehabilitation
The balletbarre Method of Safe Dance, Exercise and Rehabilitation , has been over 40 years in the making.
All of the exercises have been developed based on good practice, knowledge of physical anatomy, bio mechanics, safe dance practices and personal life experiences.
Fiona started dancing at three years old , and trained in R.A.D Classical Ballet and C.S.T.D Classical Ballet, Jazz ( Modern Stage), Tap, Character and Acrobatics.
Throughout the years she developed problems with her knees from locking into sway back legs in classical, her feet from pointe work, her ankles and knees from Tap and Jazz ,and various problems with her wrists, lower back and knees from Acrobatics to name a few.
Tabetha was 4 years old, learning Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary Dance with a passion for anatomy physiology and bio mechanics she became qualified as a personal Trainer and worked in the industry for 20 years through out the state.
This method has been developed over time based on the trial and tribulations of its developers Fiona Oliver and Tabetha Vaglivello (her daughter). Tabetha and Fiona arrived at this point through a number of “light bulb” moments based on some training in other syllabi, exercises and momentous physical accidents (car/workplace) in their lives in which they had to rehabilitate themselves.
Thus the Balletbarre safe dance and exercise rehabilitation syllabus was created.
“Ballet is more than a profession - it is a way of life.”
